Canada Snow Goose Hunting

Snow Goose, Canada Goose, Duck and Crane Hunting Guide in Canada.

Many people ask me where the best place is for a spring snow goose hunt. Saskatchewan is that place, hands down!

Welcome to Northern Skies Outfitters Canada. Saskatchewan has long been considered the world’s best waterfowl hunting destination and we are very excited to show you just how good it really is.

Whether you choose to do a fall duck and goose combo, or a spring snow goose hunt, we will show you Saskatchewan at its finest. All of our hunts will be over Avian X/SX Full Body Decoys.

We cater to two groups of hunters at a time and all aspects of our hunt can be tailored to your specific needs.

All of our waterfowl hunting in Canada will be based out of our beautiful lodge that sits overlooking a major waterfowl sanctuary. The views are spectacular and at times the refuge will be holding over 1,000,000 birds.

We have access to nearly 40,000 square miles of the best waterfowl hunting in Saskatchewan, Canada. Snow geese, Canadas, white fronts, cranes and ducks can all be found in large concentrations in our area.

We have tried to make your trip as easy as possible. All of our hunts will include meals, lodging, all of your licenses, bird cleaning, and shot gun shells (up to 3 boxes per day). All you will need is your shotgun and weather appropriate clothing. We recommend you fly into Saskatoon and rent a vehicle. It will take just a little over one hour to drive to our camp.

Getting guns into Saskatchewan, Canada (if you choose not to use ours)

The following is copied directly from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s website:

  • Licensing and Registration Requirements – Firearm owner and users in Canada need a valid firearms license allowing them to possess firearms and a Canadian registration certificate for each firearm in their possession. A license issued under Canada’s Firearms Act is different from a provincial hunting license. Declare firearms in writing, in triplicate, using the Non-Resident Firearm Declaration (form CAFC 909). DO NOT sign the form, as you must sign in front of a Canadian customs official. If there are more than three firearms, a Non-Resident Firearm Declaration Continuation Sheet (form CAFC 910) should be added. Once the declaration has been confirmed by the CBSA customs officer, it acts as a license for the owner and as a temporary registration certificate for the firearms brought to Canada. A confirmed declaration costs a flat fee of $25, regardless of the number of firearms listed on it. It is valid only for the person who signs it and only for those firearms listed on the declaration.

  • Buying or Importing Ammunition – A confirmed Non-Resident Firearm Declaration will allow you to buy ammunition in Canada. As well, you may bring limited amounts into Canada with you.
